10/6   ‘Redux I’ the Kritschgau speech to Mulder whilst walking through the corridors of the DoD remains for me a defining moment of The X-Files, encapsulating the show’s    themes of paranoia, mistrust, conspiracy, and power. And I dare anyone not to watch the speech and not recognise how it resonates with today’s environment of misinformation and fake news.

·        ‘Anasazi’ The X-Files is filled with powerful, even iconic imagery, often reflecting wider historical themes and events. The scene featuring the burnt alien corpses at the end of this episode has clear allusions to real-world historical genocides, with its themes of colonisation, genocide, and oppression having clear relevance for our contemporary world.

10/20 Within’– season 8 was a watershed moment for the series, with the departure of Mulder as a main character. The relationship between Mulder and Scully is central to The X-Files and I found this episode’s exploration of grief and loss incredibly moving, something the series explored repeatedly throughout its original run.
